Yep, I hear you. You want beautiful pictures of your most special day but you don’t want your wedding to turn into a photoshoot.
When you marry your best friend, surrounded by all your favourite people, the last thing on your mind should be your photos. So when I say goodbye to my couples and they tell me they didn’t notice I was there - I know I’ve done my job properly.
I believe a wedding photographer should blend into the background for the majority of the day, as quietly watching for the ‘moments’ and allowing you and your guests to relax and enjoy the occasion is the only way to capture truly natural reactions.
Obviously, there will be times when I will need to give some direction; your group shots (if you’ve requested them) and your portraits. I don’t want to keep you from celebrating with your guests any longer than is absolutely necessary, so I keep it simple and work fast, with no faffing about.
My style is best described as ‘lifestyle’ and this means that I will document the story of your day in an artistic and considered way, that reflects your personalities and values. (Click here to read about wedding photography styles.) From getting ready to your first dance and beyond I will photograph every aspect of your day and ensure I include a good mixture of natural reportage, couples portraits, groups and details.
I will photograph discretely and candidly, while ensuring that I am positioned to creatively use the light and location to show you at your best and capture all those special moments, focusing on natural reactions and emotions.
For your portraits, I will gently direct you and your partner so I can provide you with a variety of naturally posed and flattering images, that beautifully and creatively showcase your unique relationship.
After your wedding, I hand edit each picture in your gallery. Post production is an important part of the process for me and I edit artistically to produce the characteristic images you see in my portfolio. The artwork you receive from me will have a very different look and feel to the photographs taken by your friends and family.
So, if you like my portfolio and my words inspire you, the next step is to get in touch. Let’s chat on the phone and meet for a drink so you can tell me your love story and see if I’m the right photographer for you.
