Do you have any suggestions on what to wear?
Yes. I want you to feel relaxed and comfortable and I want you to be you, so please don't feel you need to rush out and buy something to wear that you wouldn't normally. However, please remember that your pictures may end up decorating a wall in your house, so while your old trackies and faded t-shirt might be comfortable and relaxing, they might not help you look your best!

A quick final word about hair... if you fancy a new haircut for your photo session (who doesn't?) please do it a couple of weeks before so it has time to 'bed in'. Freshly cut hair can look slightly unnatural on camera.
Do I need to wear make-up?
Yes, if you normally do but don't go crazy. You don't need any more than you would wear for a normal night out and please go easy on the foundation - it's much easier to get a natural result when smoothing out skin tone and removing spots or blemishes without too much foundation. If you have any concerns on this, please talk to me about them.
What if my children won't cooperate / are you used to dealing with uncooperative children?
I have a few tricks and techniques for shy, uncooperative children but I do expect the parents to be in full control. We will get the best results from your session if we all work together but if your child is really not in the mood we will stop and make a new plan.
How do I book a session?
Initially, please contact me by phone or email to discuss your requirements and provisionally book a date and time. (If you are booking a newborn session please contact me before the baby is born - if possible, I know sometimes they take us by surprise!) I will then send you a booking confirmation email and an invoice for £90 (via PayPal, debit or credit card) for your booking fee - I am unable to hold your date without payment of the booking fee.
When / how can I view my pictures?
Your pictures will be available to view in a password protected online gallery 2-3 weeks after your session. I will email you with the password as soon as they are ready.
How do I pay you?
You can pay your invoice online with any major debit/credit card or Paypal, just follow the instructions on your invoice. I also accept BACS and cheque payments - payee details will be on your invoice.
Do you have samples of the products you supply?
Yes, I have samples of all my products - prints, canvases, acrylics, albums and a selection of frames and mounts. I can easily obtain a sample of anything you would like to see that I don't have.
How long until I can get hard copies of photos from the session?
Depending on what you order, printed products are usually delivered within 7-10 working days of ordering.
Can sessions be at multiple locations?
Yes, within reason! A typical session starts at your home as it always helps the children to warm up in a familiar environment, then moving on to a couple more locations. I wouldn't suggest any more than three locations and they should all be fairly close to each other.
What is the difference between screen and print resolution?
Screen resolution images are processed specifically to look great on social media, phones and tablets and digital photo frames. They are small files so they upload quickly and do not take up much storage space - they do not contain enough data for a satisfactory print.
Print resolution images have been processed for printing. The files are large and a high resolution enabling you to print them at any size you require.
Do you touch up any of the photos?
Yes. All my photos are individually hand processed in the digital darkroom, and retouched and edited where necessary.
Do you recommend a particular location?
I have several favourite locations, particularly around Buckingham and the surrounding villages. I am happy to suggest some locations for you if you would like.
Are you insured?
Yes, I have full third party liability and professional indemnity insurance. I am happy to provide a copy of my insurance certificate if you would like - nurseries and playgroups often require this.
Are you CRB checked?
Yes. I have a CRB/DBS (enhanced) check and can provide a copy of my certificate if necessary.
