Kelmarsh Hall Wedding - Seen-Wai & Dean

An unexpectedly balmy April day took me to Kelmarsh Hall & Gardens in Northamptonshire, for Seen-Wai and Dean’s glorious vintage inspired wedding. Kelmarsh Hall was built as a family home in the 1730s and is an impressive piece of architecture. The interior is also exquisitely designed, with hand-painted Chinese wallpaper among many original features.

I arrived at The Old Post House in Naseby, where our bride is getting ready. As you would expect, the room is busy and full of excitement as hair and make-up is being meticulously done for the bride and her friends and family - lots of candid shots to capture.

Once Seen-Wai was ready I headed off to Kelmarsh Hall to set up for her arrival, and take some photos of Dean and their guests. The forecast was threatening rain but luckily it held off long enough and we soon saw Seen -Wai in a beautiful vintage Jaguar sweep around the driveway. She and her dad walked through the Great Hall and into the Saloon where Dean was waiting with all their family and friends. The Saloon is one of several places licensed for a civil ceremony at Kelmarsh, and it's simply stunning, with huge arched windows overlooking the most amazing view of the gardens and lake.

Following their lovely ceremony the newly-weds headed out onto the steps at the front of the hall for confetti and formal portraits, then a drinks in the Great Hall before onto the Dining Room for the wedding breakfast. We also managed to squeeze in some romantic portraits of the bride and groom in the gardens and even included their two gorgeous dogs!

Drinks and games on the lawn followed and we were treated to a spectacular sunset before the cutting of the cake and the first dance.

I love photographing weddings in the Northamptonshire countryside, the rolling hills make a stunning backdrop and there are so many gorgeous wedding venues like Kelmarsh Hall with something unique to offer.
